Bath Contemporary New Build House
A new build 2 bed house that sits within a charming Bathford neighbourhood. The dwelling is a replacement to an existing derelict greenhouse. But how do you fit a new dwelling, in a small site with a few lovely adjoining cottages?
The shape, form and height follows the pattern of the greenhouse. Half of the building sits in the ground with a green roof on top. Reused Bath stone forms the ground floor cladding whilst the first floor is clad with lightweight timber Translucent glass windows minimising the overlooking issues, whilst the clerestory windows and rooflights add sufficient daylight. Additional privacy is achieved through a well-placed timber fence.
